Description
The inscription refers to the silver statue dedicated to the genius of the "Colonia Tarraco" that would have stood on the pedestal. Lucius Minicius Apronianus, a duumvir quinquennal, provided in his will for a silver statue weighing 15 pounds, 2 ounces (about 5 kilos) to de dedicated to the "Genius of the Colonia Iulia Urbs Triumphalis Tarraco". The Genius of the "Colonia" was the city's protector divinity and its personification. The small silver statue representing it has not survived to our time.
