Description
Gold coin from the mint in Rome, featuring on the obverse the laureate head of Emperor Nero towards the right, the inscription "IMP NERO CAESAR" and on the reverse the figure of the God Jupiter Custos seated toward the right, with sceptre and the inscription "IVPPITER CVSTOS". It was minted in AD 66 or 67. This object was documented in the excavation of the building outside the city, in the area of the walls of the archaeological park, which has a construction dated in the second and third centuries AD. Such coins are called aureus and circulated from Augustus (27 BC- AD 14) until the monetary reform of Constantine the Great (AD 306-312).
