Description
Variscite discoid beads found during the excavation of the dolmen on Sant Dalmau Hill, in 1974. In this megalithic tomb people of both sexes and all ages, from children to the elderly, were interred, apparently in primary burials since parts of the whole skeleton have been detected. The various grave goods found indicate that its use extended from the late Neolithic to the Bronze Age. Apart from the variscite beads, of a very characteristic greenish colour, beads of steatite were recovered as well as others of a white stone, in this case cylindrical. The beads were probably worn in necklaces and bracelets that were deposited together with the deceased as an offering.
