Description
Arrowhead made of bronze, dated in the late Bronze Age (8th century BC) from the Cave of the Encantats (Serinyà, Pla de l'Estany). The arrowhead has a blade with a central nerve and tang with thickening. The central nerve makes the blade more resistant and prevents it from deforming or fracturing during the impact. The arrow was found in a funeral area and was part of the deceased's grave goods, along with ceramic remains. Generally, grave goods consisted of the daily belongings of the deceased and symbolic or representative elements. Objects such as arrows found in burials tell us about the war activities of those ancient societies.
