Description
Empúries disc lamp (L'Escala, Alt Empordà). The lamp, in a yellowish clay and with remains of reddish varnish, is an Italian type. The disc is decorated with a theatre mask. On the base we find the C.OPPI.RES brand. This brand belongs to one of the most prolific workshops in Italy, with possible branches in North Africa, unless their products were copied and the moulds reproduced in other parts of the Empire. In Empúries it is the brand that is repeated the most, with more than twenty specimens.
