Description
Headband made with gold and bronze sheets, using the burin and gold leaf technique, from Pollentia (Alcúdia, Mallorca). It is dated on the Hellenistic period (2nd-1st centuries BC), when are verified the first specimens in a standardized way. It has a circular oval shape and consists of sixteen leaves, decorated in burin, and nineteen six-petal flowers, made with laminated plate, and that could correspond to the Narcissus or papaver typology. The style is naturalistic, which arises in advanced classical times and is maintained during the Hellenistic period. Damià Mateu Collection.
