Description
A metal blade in a general lozenge shape formed by two very different triangles. The largest, the blade of the halberd itself, is long, reinforced with a thick central nerve and rounded cross-section that reaches almost to the end. The opposite flatter and shorter triangle is the tang that served to fasten the blade to the shaft. It therefore contains three holes for nails or rivets, two of which have been preserved. It is made of copper with small amounts of arsenic, lead and silver. The rivets are also of copper, but it contains antimony and tin instead of arsenic.
